Another great year is rolling to an end as we celebrate this holiday season. Here in Hillman the snow hasn’t yet made much of an appearance but hopes of a white Christmas are not gone yet.

We would like to thank DealChicken for helping us put out a really great deal! And for all of those who purchased your stays we can’t wait to have you with us! More great deals are coming to welcome the new year so keep your eyes peeled. Michigan’s Beautiful Winter

Snow is starting to freckle the ground and ice is welcoming itself back my windshield for yet another season. With the weather dropping and staying below freezing for most of the mornings it comes as somewhat of a surprise that the early morning air actually feels crisp and refreshing, not bone-chilling….yet.

Hunting season has kicked off and we got to see some pretty good size deer on the buck-pole this year. We welcome those who are staying with us for this annual sport and wish you all the best of luck in catching the massive deer, I believe the buck-poles largest weight saw a 170 pounder! That is one big buck!

Thanksgiving is rolling in just around the corner and feasting is plucking the strings of many minds right about now. Many of us getting ready to loosen our belts and buckle down to a great meal and let the Holiday chaos begin.

Our Elk Viewing Carriage/Sleigh Ride, Gourmet Dinner and Wine Tasting event is on its own little holiday hiatus at the moment but will be back by December 2nd and the views for this next ride are going to be downright amazing if the snow keeps dusting the grounds like this.

Late Post, but Great Weekend

Sorry about the lack of blogging things here at the Resort have been quite busy as of late. Last weekends Murder Mystery was a huge success and all the teams helped to make our Halloween party a true bash! We hope everyone had a great time!

Murder & Movies

The Halloween spirit has officially kicked off to full effect here at the resort; with a great turnout to this season’s first Murder Mystery weekend. Thank you to everyone who participated, we had a blast and we hope you did too! Drop by our Facebook page and make sure to tag Thunder Bay Resort in any of the photos you post of the event as we would love to see them!

Murder wasn’t the only thing happening at the resort over the past weekend; we were also lucky enough to be hosting Direct Damon “Duke” Knight (a Michigan native now located out of California) while he was working on his latest project, “Deep North- Curse of the Dogman”. A film based on Michigan Mythology. Duke was here with his cast and crew doing filming on the resorts picturesque property.

And what a weekend to pick! The weather has been gorgeous and sunny (and still is!). The trails winding through Thunder Bay Resort offered the perfect scenic backdrop to show the preserved ancient beauty of true North Eastern Michigan. Just one of the many joys Mother Nature brings to the area.

Next weekend we are going to be looking forward to another busy and exciting time here at the resort. With Murder Mystery once again on the way and another great Halloween event (I’ll spill the beans a little later this week!) it is sure to be a weekend that no one would want to miss!
